We began to notice that our style resembles a treasure map in a way, with the dotted lines so we looked into treasure map imagery to see if there were any elements that we might want to integrate into our designs. We quite liked the small illustrative elements of treasure/pirate maps as they get across what they need to very quickly and add a quirky touch to the design, they can also be easily manipulated to convey the style of the artist.
We liked the idea of having an instruction manual type style to our flyer. It fits in with the style of our poster and can have some quite nice illustrations. We also liked the clean look of instruction manuals and how they are very matter of fact and simple (most of them). It could add a really cool element to the whole emergency preparedness by making it simply and quirky.
